The Name "Bay" Church

In ancient Greece and Rome, Bay Leaves were worn around the head as a sign of victory in their pursuit of battle. Bay Church received it’s name in 2015 which seemed fitting as the church is near the Chesapeake Bay however during a trip to Israel in 2019 the Lord began to reveal the true identity of Bay Church. During this trip the Tour Guide began speaking of the Bay Leaf and what it symbolized, Victory! Our name is more than a building sitting near the water, it represents Victory in Christ Jesus. Our Logo has 3 leaves: Victorious, Over comer, Conqueror. Praise be to God! Victorious: But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57 NKJV Over Comer: For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world- our faith. 1 John 5:4 NKJV Conqueror: Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37 NKJV

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Word of God:
The Bible We believe that the bible, Old and New Testaments is the inspired, infallible Word of God.

The Deity Of Jesus Christ:
His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His complete conquest over the powers of Satan, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His imminent return in like manner as He went away

Salvation:
We believe that all people are, by nature, separated from God and responsible for their own sin, but that salvation, redemption, and forgiveness are freely offered to all by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. When a person repents of their sin and accepts Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord, trusting Him to save, that person is immediately born again and sealed by the Holy Spirit, all his/her sins are forgiven, and that person becomes a child of God.

Healing:
We believe that healing was provided for the spirit, soul, and body in the atonement of Jesus Christ.

Baptism And Holy Communion:
We believe in the ordinance of Baptism in water (by immersion) in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, on the authority of Jesus’ name. We also believe in the ordinance of Holy Communion.

Marriage:
We believe marriage is defined as the covenant between one man and one woman in holy matrimony. It is the earthly expression of the unity of Jesus Christ and His church.

The Trinity:
We believe that God is eternally existent in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The Church:
We believe the church consists of all those who truly believe in Jesus Christ and in His atoning death, and who trust in Him as their personal Lord and Savior.

The Holy Spirit:
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling Christians are enabled to live godly lives.

The Gifts Of The Holy Spirit:
We believe in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit mentioned in scripture and believe they are valid and necessary for today while being exercised within scriptural guidelines.

Heaven And Hell:
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: They that are lost unto eternal damnation; they that are saved unto eternal life.

Unity Of Believers:
We believe in the spiritual unity of all who believe in our Lord Jesus Christ
